What it does:
With eVer-Craft you can switch your warcraft III version to an old one without reinstalling Warcraft III, so you can watch the old replays from the good old days
HOW TO USE
This is a step-by-step tutorial:
1. Download eVer-Craft, extract it to a place of your choice. (link at the end of the post)
2. Download also the standalone TFT patches 1.19, 1.22a, 1.23a, 1.24a, 1.24b, 1.24c. (link at the end of the post part 1&2).
*WARNING! Before you begin make sure that your old replays are already in the "Program Files\Warcraft III\Replay\" folder (not "Program Files\Warcraft III\Replay\1n1\" folder) in order to avoid a specific bug. If you use vista/windows 7 run the program as Administrator. Also Warcraft III must be closed before you begin.
3. Run eVer-Craft.exe.
4. Lets say that we want to watch a replay with war3 version = 1.19a. Press "Add Patch".
5. Type in the field that pops up "1.19a" without the quotes ("") and press "OK".
6. Now, find and open War3TFT_119a_English.exe which is provided in the patches download link.
7. Press "Yes" to continue.
8. From the menu go to Backup->Create Backup.
9. Now from the "Select Version" dropdown list select the "1.19a".
10. Press the "Switch Version". There are 99% chances that you will get the "error 53" error and that's normal.
11. Now, close eVer-Craft and find the standalone patchVersion.exe that you want to switch to.
12. Run it (outside of eVer-Craft) as any other standalone patch.
*WARNING! If you switch to a very old Warcraft III version you may need the Warcraft III CD because very old patches have a CD check. If you can't open Warcraft III and you don't have the Warcraft III CD, just go to Backup>Load Backup in eVer-Craft to switch to the newest version.
13. Well done! Your Warcraft III version has changed!
After you watch the replays from the old good days :Dyou need to load the backup in order to switch to the newest version you had in the beginning and to get your downloaded maps back (which were deleted with the installation of the older patch) so:
1. Run eVer-Craft.exe.
2. From the menu go to Backup->Load Backup.
3. Wait to finish.
4. Now you can connect to battle.net, well done!
*Note: To see the replays' version simply open eVer-Craft and you will see the version number next to each replay's name. You will probably see something like 1.21 or 1.22 or 1.xx. However you cannot see the a or b or c. If a replay's version is 1.24b and you have switched to 1.24a you may load the replay, but the units wont be moving. For more information see Troubleshooting 4. If you cant find a patch in google, request it here and I will find it for you.
*Note: The "error 53" error is originally a bug or malfunction. eVer-Craft would normally change the war3 version on its own by the time you would press the "Switch Version". However for some reason it fails (who knows maybe some registry entries have changed since patch 1.26a). The weird part is that still even if eVer-Craft fails, it manages to bug our war3 version and enables us to change version with only the standalone patch without the need of reinstallation.
Troubleshooting:
1. eVer-Craft doesn't seem to work when I add patch, switch version or create/load backup!
Answer: Ever-Craft needs owner privileges to do some actions and in order to have them you must right click on "ever-craft.exe" and then select "Run as Administrator".
2. eVer-Craft seems to be working fine, but when I try to switch version the patch fails and an "error 53" is popping out in eVer-Craft!
Answer: This is the bug that we are taking advantage of. When this is done your Warcraft III version is bugged and you can run any old patch which normally you couldn't, because of the "A newer version is detected" error.
3. When I open eVer-Craft some replays are missing!
Answer: eVer-Craft is designed to display the Warcraft III replays which are located to "Program Files\Warcraft III\Replay\" ONLY* This means that if u have another folder in "Program Files\Warcraft III\Replay\" the folder that you have created (eg."Program Files\Warcraft III\Replay\Me and friend\") in it wont be seen by eVer-Craft.
4. When I watch the replay workers or anything else wont move!
Answer: If you can go in-game with the replay then the patch for example e.g. 1.21 is right, but when workers don't move, that means ur patch is either 1.21a, 1.21b, 1.21c, 1.21d or 1.21e so you must download them and try them one-by-one till you detect the correct version in which everything moves and works fine.
5. I want to watch a very old replay, but I don't have the CD to open Warcraft III!
Answer: Your best deal is to search google for a NO-CD crack. Google search should be like "Warcraft III 1.xx NO-CD crack".
6. I do everything exactly, but my patch fails!
Answer: The first reason I find to be the problem would be the patch. You have to download standalone patches, not patches that upgrade the previous patch. The second reason I would go for would be the privileges. Right-click eVer-Craft and select "Run as administrator". If it doesn't work try right-click eVer-Craft --> Properties --> Compatibility --> check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3) and check "Run this program as anadministrator" then click "OK".
